Royal Phuket City Hotel - Sha Extra Plus, Phuket

The hotel surprised me with larger rooms than expected, but they felt old and a bit dirty. However, the size was good, though there was a lingering cheap odor. The service staff were friendly and professional overall, but some had English communication issues. The location was quieter than other areas of Phuket, near the old town with great staff. The dining experience stood out, especially in the fresher and more modern café, offering a 360-degree view of Phuket Island, although some advertised restaurants were closed.

The hotel provided just what I needed - spacious and comfortable rooms that lived up to expectations. However, the older hallways and breakfast room made me feel a bit uneasy in terms of cleanliness.

The rooms are quite old but clean, and I had a pleasant interaction with the Philippina receptionist and waitress in the coffee shop downstairs. While the windows were tricky to open, the location was great for exploring the old part of Phuket.
